Library Marketing Show, episode 348
Trivia nights. Mahjong gatherings. Birdwatching meetups.
Apparently, the hottest new social trend is hanging out with other humans and doing stuff together.
There’s a growing trend toward what some people are calling “grandma hobbies.” And this is a fantastic opportunity for library marketing!
In this episode of The Library Marketing Show, I’ll share three tips for taking advantage of this trend.
Plus, we give kudos to a library that partnered with a local reporter for a whole piece on the money-saving streaming services at this library.

We hosted a Beginner’s Mahjong class taught by a community member from a local toy store that filled our largest program room with 76 people! On a random Thursday evening! The age range for it varied from Tweens to Seniors (mostly women). Participants really loved it, and we plan to start a recurring mahjong group soon. ð
