#LibraryMarketing Show, episode 217
A few weeks ago, we talked about eliminating the word “resource” from your library marketing. That video started a conversation that resulted in a whole list of words to eliminate from your library marketing vocabulary.
Get the list and the reason why this change is so important (I promise I’m not trying to be a pain… there is a good reason) in this episode!
Do you have a suggestion for a topic for a future episode? Want to nominate someone for kudos? Let me know here.
Thanks for watching!

I’m not sure I agree about programs, I’ll have to mull this over. “Program” is a pretty well-used word here in Wisconsin at museums, churches, schools. That said, I like being more specific with “event” and “class”.
I’ve encouraged our libraries to stop using the word “Free”. Instead I like people to say “no charge to participate.” I feel like “free” is a very spammy word and doesn’t actually convey value. I’d love to hear what other libraries think about that.

Rebecca, I don’t know if you saw but there ended up being a bit of conversation about this on LinkedIn when I posted the video: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/angelahursh_a-few-weeks-ago-i-stirred-up-a-bit-of-trouble-activity-7135598282696769536-nL0P?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop
